2018 Blues on Broadbeach music festival May 17-20

 Broadbeach music festival
Gold Coast police would like to remind motorists of upcoming road closures due to the 2018 Blues on Broadbeach music festival.
The event will be held over four days, from Thursday, May 17 to Sunday, May 20, with more than 150,000 spectators expected to attend this year’s event.
Police have been working with event organisers and stakeholders to ensure the music festival is conducted safely and with minimum disruption to traffic.
Motorists are advised that travelling anywhere near the Broadbeach CBD during this event may results in delays due to the diversions that will be in place.
Major Events Group Senior Sergeant Andrew Frick said police will be present during the four-day event.
“Officers will be out and about to ensure everyone is having a safe and enjoyable time and that there are only minimal disruptions to businesses and local residents.”
“Police will also be monitoring and addressing any antisocial behaviour, particularly in regards to liquor offences.”
“Members of the public are reminded they can not to consume liquor in a public place and by doing so could face fines of $126.”
Please expect delays and traffic congestion at the following Broadbeach road closures:
From 5.00pm, Thursday May 17 to 2.00am, Monday May 21
• Surf Parade between Victoria Avenue and Queensland Avenue
• Queensland Avenue between Jubilee Avenue and Federation Avenue
• Victoria Avenue between Gold Coast Highway and Surf Parade

• Local access only of Albert Avenue between Old Burleigh Road and Surf Parade
